A menu inspired by my favorite Israeli brunch classic dishes
It is no secret that I love Middle Eastern cuisine, especially Israeli food. I was inspired to create this menu while preparing for the High Holidays (Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur) - when I was craving a lighter meal after eating all those heavy and rich dishes. Even though this meal is vegetarian, it will leave you satisfied. Give it a try, I know you will love the recipes and pairings as much I do.

Homemade Gvina Levana
Have you ever seen an Israeli recipe that calls for gvina levana? It is a delightful soft cheese that is easy to make with buttermilk. It cures in the oven overnight then chills for about 5 hours in the fridge. Gvina levana is delicious spread on bagels or as an ingredient for moist baked goods.
Israeli Style Poached Eggs
Introduce your family to this classic Israeli comfort dish that is just as tasty for dinner as it is for breakfast. It is a one-dish wonder that blends poached eggs in a vibrant and spicy tomato sauce. Serve it with plenty of warm pitas to soak up the flavorful juices.
Classic Israeli Hummus
Middle Eastern people have enjoyed hummus for ages. The recipe is easy and loaded with flavor from the garbanzo beans, tahini, garlic and other zesty spices. Hummus is a healthy treat that pairs well with pita chips or fresh veggies.
Israeli Pita Bread
There is nothing quite like tasting a piece of homemade pita bread fresh from the oven. My yummy version is simple and does not require a lot of time to make. With a few basic ingredients from your pantry, you can prepare homemade pitas for any of your favorite Middle Eastern dishes.
Baba Ganoush
Baba ganoush is a classic Middle Eastern dish made from roasted eggplant, garlic, tahini, aromatic spices and a little olive oil. Puree the mixture into a delicious creamy dip that you can use as an appetizer with warm pitas or crunchy crudité.
Chocolate Rugelach
Satisfy your family’s sweet cravings with this easy Israeli-style dessert. You will love the delicate, buttery rolls that are filled with a warm chocolaty layer. They bake golden brown in about 25 minutes and are ready for your family to enjoy. These delicacies would also make satisfying treats any time.
Citrus Punch
Here is a refreshing punch that makes the perfect drink for any occasion. It is a tangy mixture of citrus juice, pomegranate juice, fresh berries, and a hint of cinnamon & honey.
