Christmas Stollen Recipe | PT1H20M Serves 12 Ingredients: 3 Cups Golden Raisins 4 Tablespoons Dark Rum 8 Cups All-Purpose Flour 2 Cups Milk 2 Packages Dry Yeast 1 Cup Sugar 1 Teaspoon Salt 1 Lemon 0.5 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg 1 Pound Unsalted Butter 0.5 Cup Almonds 0.5 Cup Candied Orange Peel 0.5 Cup Candied Lemon Peel 0.25 Cup Powdered Sugar 12 Tablespoons Melted Butter In a bowl, soak raisins in rum overnight. In a large bowl (or in a stand mixer) cream butter and sugar. After a fluffy texture is achieved add flour, sugar, yeast, salt, milk, and mix until a smooth dough ball is formed. Add the candied fruit, almonds, nutmeg and raisins, one ingredient at a time and knead the dough well after each addition. Keep aside for at least hour. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Knead the dough well and divide it into 2 equal sized balls. Shape each dough ball into a loaf. Arrange the loaves onto prepared baking sheet Bake for about 1 hour. Remove from oven and coat each loaf with melted butter. Dust with powdered sugar generously and serve.
