On a large sheet of aluminum foil, stack 4 pitas and wrap loosely, and bake in preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until warm and tender. Meanwhile, slice 20 slices of gyro meat about 1/4 inch thick. In a large skillet, heat oil and fry 10 slices at a time, until browned, about 2 minutes on each side.
