Classic Meatballs Recipe | RecipeSavants.com PT37M Serves 6 Ingredients: 1 Pound Beef 0.5 Pound Pork 2 Cloves Garlic 2 Medium Eggs 1 Cup Romano Cheese 2 Tablespoons Italian Flat Leaf Parsley 0 To Taste Salt And Freshly Ground Black Pepper 3 Slices Stale Italian Bread 7 Tablespoons Lukewarm Water 2.75 Tablespoons Olive Oil 1 Medium Onion 3 Cloves Garlic 1 Can Tomatoes 1 Tablespoon Tomato Concentrated Purée 0.25 Cup Fresh Basil 1 Teaspoon Oregano 2.5 Ounces Red Wine In a large bowl, add beef, pork, 2 cloves of minced garlic, eggs, Romano cheese, parsley, Italian Bread and salt/pepper to taste. Mix until well combined. Then slowly add in the water and mix well. Make small equal sized balls from the mixture. In a large skillet, heat oil on medium heat. Add meatballs and cook in batches for about 6-8 minutes or till golden brown from all sides. Then drain on a paper towel lined plate. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Add onion and sauté for about 4-5 minutes. Then add crushed garlic and sauté for about 2 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients and reduce the heat to low. Simmer, covered for about 30 minutes or till desire thickness of sauce. Stirring occasionally.
