In a pan, add remaining cornflour mixture, reserved cherry juice, almond liqueur and 2 tablespoons of sugar and bring to a boil, stirring vigorously. Stir in cherries and remove from heat. Transfer cherry mixture to a bowl and keep aside to cool for about 2-3 hours.Arrange a heat-proof bowl over a pan of hot water. In the bowl, add chocolate and melt, stirring occasionally.
