1 Pound Ground Lamb1 Pound Lean Ground Beef2 Tablespoons Butter2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil2 Large White Onions4 Cloves Garlic1 Tablespoon Curry Powder1 Teaspoon Ground Turmeric2 Slices Sandwiches Bread0.25 Cup Milk0.5 Small Lemon1 Egg1 Teaspoon Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper0.5 Cup Dried Apricots1 Large Granny Smith Apple0.25 Cup Golden Raisins0.5 Cup Slivered Almonds6 Bay Leaves1 Cup Milk2 Eggs0.5 Teaspoon SaltPreheat the oven to 325 degrees. Grease a large casserole dish with a thin layer of cooking spray. In a Dutch oven, sauté onion and garlic in heated oil and butter until translucent, stir in turmeric and curry powder, continue to saute until fragrant. Remove from the heat and set aside. Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine well. Transfer to the prepared casserole dish. Cover tightly with a sheet of alinimum foil and bake for 1 1/4 hours.Combine all the ingredients for the custard topping in a large bowl and stir to combine. Meanwhile, raise the temperture of the oven to 400 degrees.Remove the casserole from the oven, and pour the custard topping over the surface, dot the surface of the custard with the bay leaves, and bake for another 20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
