1 Slice White Bread3 Cups Cabbage0.25 Teaspoon Caraway Seeds3 Slices BaconHeat a heavy skillet over medium heat and cook bacon until crisp, stirring occasionally. With a slotted spoon, transfer bacon to a paper towel lined plate to drain. Transfer 1 teaspoon of bacon grease into a small bowl, keeping remaining in skillet.In the same skillet, add cabbage, salt and black pepper and cook until cabbage golden, stirring occasionally. Add 2 tablespoons water and cook until cabbage becomes crisp-tender. With a slotted spoon, transfer cabbage to a serving plate.In the same skillet, heat reserved grease over medium-high heat and sauté caraway seeds, breadcrumbs, salt and black pepper until golden. Stir in bacon and remove from heat.Top cabbage with bacon mixture and serve.
