2 Tablespoons Light Butter5 Medium Onions3 Cloves Garlic0.5 Cup Red Wine1 Cup Beef Broth1 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce1 Teaspoon Salt1 Teaspoon Dried Thyme1 Teaspoon Paprika0.5 Teaspoon Black Pepper0.33 Medium Loaf French Baguette4 Slices Light Swiss CheeseMelt butter in a large skillet and sauté onion and garlic. Sprinkle with salt. Cook until onions are caramelized, 30 to 40 minutes. Splash water into the pan if onions scorch. Add in broth, Worcestershire, wine, paprika, thyme and pepper. Let cook, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes over medium. Add vinegar and turn heat to low.
Preheat oven broiler.
Take 1/3 of a French loaf and slice into 12 slices. Lightly mist the loaf slices with olive oil from both sides. Toast loaf slices in preheated oven and bake for just 3 minutes or until toasted. Remove bread from oven and then set oven to 375 degrees.
Pour soup mix into a 8x8 casserole dish, top with loaf and cheese slices. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
