Ingredients:
3 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil1 Pound Tempeh1 Cup Onions1 Teaspoon Ground Cumin0.33 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper1 Teaspoon Ground Fennel1 Teaspoon Chili Powder1 Teaspoon Ground Coriander1 Medium Bell Pepper1 Large Lemon2 Tablespoons Tamari Soy Sauce2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar3 Tablespoons Dark Brown Surgar8 Ounces Tomato Paste1 Tablespoon Yellow MustardPreheat oven to 350 degrees.
Heat oil and sauté onions with garlic, fennel, chili, cumin, coriander and cayenne pepper until onions are softened. Add tempeh and bell pepper and sauté until tempeh is browned.
Meanwhile whisk together lemon juice, soy sauce, vinegar, tomato paste, brown sugar, mustard, hot sauce and 1 cup of water in a bowl. Pour over cooked tempeh mixture.
Transfer tempeh mixture to a baking dish and bake covered for 30 minutes and uncovered for another 30 minutes.
Serve with cooked white rice.
