12 Small Granny Smith Apples12 Wooden Sticks1.5 Cups Sugar0.5 Cup Light Corn Syrup1 Teaspoon Black Gel Paste Food ColoringWash and dry apples thoroughly then poke firmly with sticks and place on a baking sheet. Line a second baking sheet with buttered parchment paper and set aside.In a medium saucepan add sugar, 3/4 cups water, and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat while whisking until sugar is dissolved. Using a candy thermometer, wait for the temperature to reach 310 F. Remove from heat and add food coloring while swirling the pan to mix it.Dip the apple in the candy and place on buttered baking sheet. Repeat with remaining apples.
