Smart Recipes, American Recipes, Dairy,Vegetables,Pork Recipes, Recipes Dairy,Vegetables,Pork American Chicago-Style Deep Dish Pizza Chicago-Style Deep Dish Pizza Recipe | PT1H Serves 8 Ingredients: 0.5 Pound Sliced Pepperoni 1 Medium Onion 1 Cup Pizza Sauce 15 Ounces Diced Tomatoes 0.5 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese 1 Pound Deep Dish Pizza Dough 3 Tablespoons Extra-Virgin Olive Oil 0.5 Pound Mozzarella Cheese 0.25 Cup Corn Meal Prepare pizza dough according to associated recipe and allow it to come to room temperature about 1 hour before using. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Transfer dough onto well-floured surface and roll into a large circle. Lightly grease a 12 inch cast iron skillet, with 1 tablespoon of oil and sprinkle evenly with cornmeal. Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the skillet, and with a fork, poke holes in the bottom of the crust, and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the crust is lightly golden brown. Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before filling. Layer mozzarella, pepperoni, onions, sauce and tomatoes on dough and top with grated Parmesan. Brush edges with remaining oil and bake again until the crust is brown & crispy and cheese is bubbly, about 20 minutes.

In this recipe for a batch of homemade pizza dough (recipe listed below) but, to be honest I often purchase pre-made dough from my favorite pizzeria. It makes this recipe even simpler. Remember, you can easily freeze pizza dough - just let it defrost for a day or so in the refrigerator before you need it.
