Smart Recipes, European Recipes, Dairy,Eggs Recipes, Recipes Dairy,Eggs European Limoncello Gelato Limoncello Gelato Recipe | PT10H15M Serves 4 Ingredients: 3 Cups Milk 1 Cup Granulated Sugar 0.25 Teaspon Salt 2 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Zest 5 Large Egg Yolks 0.66 Cup Heavy Cream 0.25 Cup Limoncello 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, sugar, salt & zest. Stir constantly until mixture starts to simmer. Remove from heat, cover, an allow to sit for 1 hour. Reheat milk mixture over medium heat. In a large bowl, whisk egg yolks until blended. When milk mixture is hot again, pour half of it into the eggs while constantly whisking. Pour contents of the bowl into the saucepan and heat until thickened, about 3-5 minutes. Place another large mixing bowl over an ice bath. In the bowl, add 1/2 cup cream. Use a fine mesh sieve to strain the egg mixture into the cream. In a medium bowl, combine limoncello, lemon juice & remaining cream. Stir into gelato mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Add gelato to an ice cream maker and follow manufacturers instructions.
