Smart Recipes, American Recipes, Dairy,Eggs,Vegetables Recipes, Recipes Dairy,Eggs,Vegetables American Easy Banana Cream Pie Easy Banana Cream Pie Recipe | RecipeSavants.com PT45M Serves 8 Ingredients: 1 Cup Sugar 0.25 Cup Cornstarch 0.5 Teaspoon Salt 3 Cups Milk 2 Large Eggs 3 Tablespoons Butter 1.5 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract 1 9-Inch Store- Bought Pie Crust 2 Large Firm Bananas 1 Cup Whipped Cream In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, add sugar, cornstarch, salt & milk and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles, about 2-3 minutes. Reduce heat to low and stir for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Whisk in about 2 tablespoons of the hot mixture into the eggs and add the egg mixture to the saucepan. Set saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a slow boil and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from the heat .Use a spatula to gently fold in the butter and vanilla. Place a sheet of plastic wrap against the surface of the custard and chill for 30 minutes in the refrigerator. To make the pie, spread about half of the custard into the pre-baked crust and use a spatula to smooth the surface. Slice bananas and arrange evenly on top of the custard. Spoon remaining custard over bananas and smooth it. Add whipped cream and refrigerate until chilled & set, about 6 hours or overnight. To serve, garnish with additional banana slices.
