3.25 Teaspoons Active Dry Yeast2 Cups All Purpose Flour2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour0.5 Cup Sugar0.5 Cup Butter0.66 Cup Evaporated Milk2 Eggs1.5 Teaspoon Salt0.5 Cup Warm WaterIn a large bowl, dissolve yeast in the warm water. Combine whole wheat flour, sugar, eggs, milk, butter and salt and beat until smooth. Add all-purpose flour, a 1/2 cup at a time, and mix until a soft dough is formed. Transfer dough onto a floured surface and with your hands, knead until smooth and elastic.Place the dough into a lightly greased bowl and turn once to coat evenly with the oil. Cover the bowl and set aside in a warm place for about 1 1/2 hours, or till the dough has doubled in size. Punch down the dough, and divide into 3 equal portions and set aside for about 5 minutes.Transfer the dough portions onto a floured surface and roll each into 1/2-inch thickness. With a floured biscuit cutter (2 1/2-inch size), cut the biscuits from the dough.Arrange biscuits onto a lightly greased cookie sheet in a single layer. Cover the biscuits and sett aside in a warm place for about 30 minutes.Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow the biscuits to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
