1 Pound Lean Ground Beef0.66 Cup Breadcrumbs1 Egg0.25 Teaspoon Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper1 Sweet Onion Condensed Soup2 Medium Yellow Onions4 Tablespoons Butter18 Thin Slices Gruyere Cheese6 Ciabatta RollsPreheat the oven to 350 degrees.In a bowl add, ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper and mix until well combined. Make 18 equal sized balls from the mixture. Arrange the meatballs into a large baking dish about 1-inch apart and top with onion soup evenly. Bake for about 25 minutes.Meanwhile, in a sauté pan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat and cook onion slices for about 7-10 minutes, stirring frequently. Transfer the caramelized onions to a plate. Remove meatballs from the oven and set the oven on low broil.Arrange 3 meatballs on the bottom part of each roll and top with onions, followed by 3 cheese slices. Repeat with remaining meatballs, onions, bread and cheese. Arrange the rolls onto a broiler pan and broil until the cheese melts. Cover and serve.
