2 Cloves Garlic1 Cup Dry Bread Crumbs1 Onion1 Bunch Fresh Coriander1.25 Teaspoon Ground Cumin2.5 Tablespoons Milk0.25 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes1 Egg1 Can (16 Oz) Plum Tomatoes1.5 Pounds Ground Beef0 To Taste Salt And Pepper2 Tablespoon Olive OilIn a food processor, add tomatoes with liquid and pulse till pureed.In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil and sauté garlic, onion, 1/4 teaspoon of cumin and 1/2 teaspoon of salt for about 2-3 minutes. Add tomato puree and red pepper flakes and stir to combine. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered partially for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, for meatballs: in a large bowl, add beef, egg, milk, bread crumbs, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper and mix till well combined. Make several 1-inch balls from the mixture.In another skillet, heat remaining 1 teaspoon of oil and cook meatballs in batches for about 10-15 minutes. Arrange meatballs on a serving platter. Place 1 cilantro leaf over each meatball. Insert a toothpick in each meatball. Top with tomato sauce and serve.
