In a large bowl, combine the peaches, blueberries, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, cornstarch, 1/8 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Gently stir to combine and transfer to an 8x8 inch casserole dish.In another large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar and salt, with 8 tablespoons of the diced butter. Using a pastry cutter or food processor, process until you have pea-sized pieces of butter.Stir buttermilk and vanilla into the flour mixture and combine to form a dough - do not over mix.Transfer the dough to a well-floured surface, and roll out to a 1/2 inch thickness, and using a large drinking glass cut out individual biscuits.Top the casserole with the biscuits and sprinkle with the granulated sugar. Dot the surface of the cobbler with the remaining 4 tablespoons cubed butter and bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes.
