In a small skillet over medium-low heat, toast the star anise, cinnamon, peppercorns, and cloves, until fragrant, about 5 minutes. Transfer the spices to the Campari mixture, cover and shake well. Allow the Campari to infuse at room tempature overnight. Use a fine-mesh sieve to strain the infused Campari into a pitcher. Stir in the gin & sweet vermouth.
