In a lightly greased 12x9 pan, arrange apple slices and sprinkle with cinnamon. In a medium mixing bowl, mix together flour and brown sugar. Incorporate butter until a crumbly texture forms. It should look like a small peas, to large clumps of sand. In a medium mixing bowl add all ingredients for the Sweet Citrus Syrup and stir until well combined. When testing this recipe, I used fresh apples from a local orchard. While fresh is always best - I must admit that I have used canned apple filling during the winter here in Chicago when I crave this recipe.
