Smart Recipes, American Recipes, Eggs Recipes, Recipes Eggs American Double-Chocolate Pecan Pie Double-Chocolate Pecan Pie Recipe | PT2H15M Serves 8 Ingredients: 1.66 Cups All-Purpose Flour 0.33 Cup Granulated Sugar 2 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa 0.75 Teaspoon Salt 0.5 Cup Salted Butter 0.75 Cup Salted Butter 4 Tablespoons Ice-Cold Water 1.33 Cups Dark Chocolate Chips 3 Large Eggs 0.75 Cup Dark Corn Syrup 0.5 Cup Packed Light Brown Sugar 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract 1 Cup Whole Pecans 0.75 Cup Pecan Halves In the bowl of a food processor, add 1 1/2 cups of flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and cocoa. Pulse 4 times and add the cold butter. Pulse 10 more times to combine mixture. Add cold water and pulse until the dough comes together. Remove the dough and roll it into a ball, then flatten it into a disc shape. Wrap in a sheet of plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 degrees. On a work surface lightly dusted with cocoa, roll dough into a circle that is approximately 9 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick. In a 9-inch pie pan, transfer the dough and press in around the sides. Trim away access dough and crimp edges with a fork. Spread 1 cup of chocolate chips evenly on the bottom of the crust. In a large bowl, beat the eggs until foamy. Add melted butter and whisk again. Add syrup, 1 tablespoon flour, brown sugar, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt & vanilla and whisk until combined well. Fold in chopped pecans and transfer the filling to the pie crust, spreading evenly with a spatula. Arrange pecan halves evenly on top. Bake for 1 hour uncovered, then cover the pie with a sheet of aluminum foil and bake for another 40 minutes. Allow the pie to cool for about 3 hours. In a small bowl, add remaining chocolate chips and heat in microwave on High for 1 minute, until melted. Stir chocolate and drizzle over the pie before serving.
