Ingredients:
1 Pound Ground Breakfast Sausage3 Cups Milk2 Cups Water1 Cup Quick Cooking Grits3 Cups Shredded Mild Cheddar4 Large Eggs1 Tablespoon Tabasco Sauce0.25 Large Bunch Of Green Onions1 Small Jalapeno1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt & Freshly Ground Black PepperPreheat the oven to 375 degrees.In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and thoroughly cooked, about 10 minutes. Transfer the meat to a large bowl and set aside. Stir in the 2 cups of the milk and water, and bring to a boil, and reduce to a simmer. Slowly stir in the grits and continue to whisk until completely smooth and free of lumps. Continue to simmer until the grits until thick and creamy. Remove the Dutch oven from the heat, and stir in 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheese. In a medium bowl, add eggs, Tabasco and remaining milk and whisk until combined. Slowly pour the egg mixture into the grits, whisking continuously.Fold in the sausage, jalapeno and white parts of the green onions. Season with salt & pepper. Top with remaining cheese and bake until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean, about 50 to 60 minutes. Garnish with a sprinkle of green onions.
