1 Teaspoon Sesame Seeds0.5 Cup Water1 Teaspoon Rice-Wine Vinegar1 Teaspoon Cornstarch2 Teaspoons Black Bean-Garlic Sauce2 Teaspoons Canola Oil1 Large Garlic Clove4 Cups Broccoli FloretsIn a small saucepan over medium-low heat, sprinkle sesame seeds and stir until lightly toasted and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Pour toasted seeds in a bowl to cool and set aside.In another small bowl, add 1/4 cup water, vinegar and cornstarch and stir until combined. Add black bean sauce and stir until mixture is smooth.In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, heat oil until it shimmers. Add garlic and saute until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add broccoli and keep stirring until it is well-coated. Pour in remaining water, cover and steam until the broccoli is tender-crisp, about 2-3 minutes. Use a wooden spoon to push broccoli to the sides and pour the Black Bean-Garlic Sauce in the middle of the pan. Stir sauce until has thickened, about 1 minute. Mix the broccoli with the sauce to get an even coating. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve.
