1 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter0.25 Cup Sugar8 Ounces Semisweet Chocolate1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract3 Large Egg Yolks4 Large Egg Whites0.25 Teaspoon Cream Of TartarPreheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly, grease a raminikin with softened butter and then, sprinkle with sugar, tapping out excess. Arrange baking dish on a rimmed baking sheet.For soufflé base: Arrange a large heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water. In the bowl, add chocolate, vanilla extract and 1/4 cup of water and heat for about ten minutes, stirring continuously. Remove from heat and keep aside to cool for about 20 minutes.In the cooled chocolate mixture, add egg yolks and stir to combine well. Keep aside until using.In a large bowl, add egg whites and cream of tartar and with an electric mixer, beat on medium-high speed until soft peaks form. Slowly, add 1/4 cup of sugar and beat until stiff and glossy peaks form. With a rubber spatula, gently fold in half of the soufflé base. Then, fold in remaining soufflé base until just combined.Transfer the mixture to prepared baking dish and with the back of a spoon, smooth the top surface. Bake until top is set, about 30-35 minutes. Serve warm.
